The LIFE Welsh Raised Bogs Project will be holding its own #BogDay event this year to help make people more aware of peatlands, the services they provide for free, and the threats they face. Activities include:

  • Stands
  • Guided walks
  • Light refreshment provided for a donation

Llyn LLech Owain Country Park, Cross Hands

Sunday 28th July, 2019, 11am – 4pm.

Celebrate Bog Day by bringing your family to Llyn Llech Owain Country Park. Discover what lies beneath your feet on a guided walk or follow the scavenger hunt for plants and animals that call the bog their home. There will be craft activities and information about the future of Llyn Llech Owain Bog.

North Shropshire, Whixall, Nr Whitchurch

Sunday 28th July, 2019; 10am – 2pm.

Meet at Whixall Social Centre, Whixall.

International Bog Day at the Marches MossesThis annual event has been designed to celebrate the beauty of bogs and to help make people more aware of peatlands, the benefits they provide to everyone for free, and the threats facing them.

Come and find out what makes bogs so special! The Marches Mosses cross the border between Shropshire and North Wales so this event will start in England, go into Wales and cross back into England!

Suitable for families, but children should be able to walk 2-3 miles.
